The cow calf is the only baby animal prey that can be hunted in WolfQuest.
Baby calves can be found in the cattle ranch on the western side of Slough Creek, slightly north of the creek just near the barrier.
- Main article: Cattle ranch
Cattle calves can only be found exclusively in the cattle ranch. They cannot be found within Slough Creek's main map. When the player enters the cattle ranch and uses the X key to leap over the fence, they must locate the cattle calf. This can be tricky due to the adult cattle surrounding the area, allowing the calf to blend in better.
Once found, the calf can be killed with one swipe. As soon as it's dead, the player must quickly fill their wolf's stomach and leave the ranch before they hear dogs' barking. After the dogs start barking, the player must run off the cattle ranch, through the purple portal. If they do not run off in time, a loud gunshot will kill the wolf immediately.
If the player bumps into an adult cow, they will be chased out of the ranch and respawn near the exit portal outside of the fenced area. If the player has killed the calf and bumped into a cow accidentally, they will need to leave the area and return in order to hunt another calf.
The calf does blend in with the cows, but is easily spotted if the player is depending on size. To kill the calf with no trouble, loop around the cow's backsides, and the calf will seem to be waiting in the crowd. the player can kill the calf and quickly eat it before the cows notice them, then they will run away into Slough Creek through the purple portal.
